Director Rock Rockenbach was appointed to the Montecito Sanitary District Board in 2025.

Rock grew up in Montecito and is a graduate of Santa Barbara High School (’88). He spent three decades away from home completing his education, serving the country as an officer and attorney in the U.S. Air Force, and rearing his children in the greater Washington, D.C. area. After retiring from military service in 2009, Rock founded a company providing workplace conflict resolution and investigation services to federal agencies and private sector clients. He returned to Santa Barbara in 2020 with his wife, Jan, and their two children. Rock continues as the president of his company and enjoys running, cycling, and enjoying time with his family and dogs.

Rock brings decades of legal, mediation, leadership, and public service experience to the District.  He is committed to supporting transparent governance and sustainable infrastructure for the Montecito community.
